JOURNEY TO MYSELF
Hello! Nice to meet you. I'm Tanesha.
"Do more of what makes you happy" is a plaque sitting on my desk. I see it everyday and that's exactly what I am doing. I'm a classically trained Certified Mat Pilates Teacher, POUND, Generation POUND, PIIT28 and Pop Pilates Instructor, and Atheletics Fitness Association of America (AFAA) Certified Group Fitness Instructor. As a child I had thoughts of being a teacher yet it wasn't until I became an adult that I realized Pilates was my subject. The more I practiced the more I realized that Pilates was becoming my lifestyle.
Pilates is now my passion, my purpose, the gift I share with others to help them gain complete control of their bodies. A student shared with me that she was in a car accident and suffered from back pain. After a year of chiropractic treatments she still had the pain, but after ONE week of my classes she said that her back pain had drastically reduced. That is why, throughout the year, I continue my Pilates and fitness education in workshops, continuing education course and my own Pilates practice to remain connected and giving to my students.
I received my Pilates Training through Peak Pilates and certifications through POUND Fit and Blogilates. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies from Morgan State University and a Master of Science degree in Publication Design from The University of Baltimore. I spent several years in the corporate world facilitating leadership and practical skills courses for the professionally minded.
In other news, I'm a lover of travel. It's one of my favorite things to do. My favorite color is orange, I love God, I'm a wife, and a mommy to two. When they're not keeping me moving, we spend a lot of time outside. A family favorite is the beach and park. When I'm at home I enjoy cooking from scratch, baking homemade goodies with my children, and tending to my seasonal herb and vegetable garden. A green thumb I have not, but I do okay. My quiet time includes meditating, reading or crocheting. I like nice warm baths (sans children) too!
